Zawody Igrzysk Dzieci oraz Igrzysk Młodzieży Szkolnej w ramach współzawodnictwa Małopolskiego Szkolnego Związku Sportowego zostały oficjalnie zainaugurowane. Sportowy rok szkolny 2025/2026 rozpoczął się w czwartek 25 września – tradycyjnie od sztafetowych biegów przełajowych. Areną zmagań był stadion Okocimskiego Klubu Sportowego w Brzesku za udostepnienie którego organizatorzy kierują do władz klubu serdeczne podziękowania.
Uroczystego otwarcia zawodów dokonał Burmistrz Brzeska Tomasz Latocha, który życzył uczestnikom nie tylko sportowych sukcesów w rozpoczętym niedawno roku szkolnym, ale przede wszystkim kształtowania postawy fair play w życiu sportowym jak i prywatnym.
